Nihilism begins with life and its meaning. The question of what meaning life offers or has. Many, no, millions have pondered the meaning of life, but the number is incredibly large. Apart from that, people have always searched for meaning in everything and very often found one, but when the question of the “meaning of life” is asked, most are hesitant to answer.
In nihilism, the question of the meaning of life is answered with the answer that there is none, that life has no meaning.
But where does the game end?
Where does meaninglessness end?
Does it even have an end?
No. Meaning is merely a concept—no less meaningless than its very opposite. Thus, both ‘meaning’ and ‘meaninglessness’ collapse into the same abstraction, devoid of inherent content. Meaning is subjective by nature; searching for anything is useless and doesn’t solve anything. it cannot coexist with rationality, because rationality demands definitions—while meaning resists them with every ounce of its existence. Therefore, meaning must be defined by the individual, not by law, not by machine, not my others only once’s own mind. In the end, meaning is as meaningless as meaning can possibly be.
Because even if you define meaning only as yourself it does not and cannot be true for the universe, it cannot solve a problem and it only appeals to you. It will never solve a logical question and doesn’t have a general sense of value.
Because meaning only “functions” within a subjective framework and cannot claim objective existence. Thus, from a philosophical and metaphysical perspective, it remains meaningless.
And this is where it breaks down – nihilism – as Nietzsche said…
